Do students understand the work they submit?

That question is the starting point for WhatYouWrote. Students can use tools to help with writing, including AI. An instructor still needs to know whether they understand the words, details, and ideas in the finished essay.

WhatYouWrote turns each submission into a short comprehension quiz inside the LMS. The instructor chooses the question mix and timing, then reviews individual responses.

The aim is a more specific conversation: which detail did the student miss? Did they recognize the words but misunderstand the argument? What should the instructor ask next?

The quiz supports that judgment. It does not establish authorship or make a misconduct decision.
